Staroveky symbol Inuitske kultury byl tradicne pouzivan jako orientacni bod v krajine nebo jako navigacni pomoc. Take reprezentoval severni pohostinost a pratelstvi. Inukshuk se stal symbolem Olympic games Vancouver 2010.
