Lake Hawea Wanaka has become a popular tourist resort, loved by many for being less commercial than Queenstown   Arowtown is a historic gold mining town in the Otago region  Queenstown is too commercial and on top of that we paid fine 200$ for sleeping in the car

Abel Tasman Coast Track

Abel Tasman National Park is a national park located at the north end of the Sound Island  of New Zealand. the Abel Tasman Track is a popular tramping track which follows the coastline With a coverage of only 225 km, is the smallest of New Zealand`s national parks. The park consists of  forested, hilly country to the north of the valleys of the Takaka and Riwaka Rivers, and is bounded to the north by the waters of Golden Bay and Tasman Bay. 

Ferry connects the South and North Island of New Zealand

Regular ferry services run between Picton in the Sounds and Wellington. Although Cook Strait is only 24km wide at  its narrowest point, the ferry journey covers 70 km Picton Cook Strait is the strait between the North and South Islands of New Zealand. It connects the Tasman Sea with the South Pacific Ocean and is considered one of the most dangerous and unpredictable waters in the world.
